Ban on Herbal Medicine
I am nothing short of appalled at what is happening in the UK. When a Government tries to pass legislation that essentially makes all medicinal herbs illegal across Europe what else can you be? And that is exactly what the Government in the UK is trying to do as we speak. If you value your right to make choices about how you care for your own health then please read on and then sign the petition NOW.
If this act is passed it will put Natural Health Products in the same category as drugs (‘therapeutic products’). In Canada the Bill passed there makes herbal medicine available only through prescription (i.e. ‘please doctor, could I get some vitamin C?’). In Europe the cost for obtaining approval to sell a natural product is estimated at £80,000 and set to rise to an estimated £120,000 per herb. I am sure you wont be surprised to learn that each herb of a given compound must be treated separately. So those (often sole) practitioners who prescribe herbal medicines comprising multiple herbs will be unable to practice because they will not be able to pay to have each herb verified. If passed, this bill will effectively eliminate most practitioners and increase the cost of natural medicine. The only companies with enough capital to test, verify and make natural medicines will be the big Pharmas, thus enabling them to corner the market they have helped to destroy.
Silver Sol
Hey Guys. Hope this post finds you well and buzzing
Yep I am still on raw food and yep still feeling peppy – more on that later.
The purpose of this post is to give you folks an intimate look at Silver Sol because it really has rocked my world. Being a homeopath I tend to use homeopathic remedies only. That said, I am not one sided enough to think that homeopathy is the only game in town. While I know homeopathy is a phenomenal system of medicine, I also know there are times when something else is necessary, more appropriate, easier for the client to use or (you list the reason).
Eating Raw – Raw Food
I have to tell you about my latest adventure. As you know I am, and always have been, very interested in all aspects of health. Perhaps it was growing up with an invalid and oodles of chronic illnesses that did it? I have always been interested in health, healing, nutrition and people taking control of their own lives. And when we combine health and self determination my ears really prick up!
My version of health and self determination is my practice. I am a homoeopath who incorporates EFT and NLP as appropriate. I encourage clients to understand what is ‘going on for them’ because in my world view, illness is always a symptom of something else. Homeopathy is brilliant for ‘getting underneath’ and treating the whole person. So for me homeopathy is a big part of healthy self determination.
Even I’m Amazed
No secret I am a homeopath and it’s no secret that lots of folks out there don’t understand or agree with modalities like homeopathy. You know what? DON’T CARE!!! I am sooooo over being brow beaten by people who haven’t got the faintest idea about homeopathy. These same people then presume to tell me – not ask – but TELL me why homoeopathy is a sham and by association so am I. And I am officially over trying to reason with or just inviting people to think about homoeopathy or any other form of ‘alternate‘ healing. We are all adults and as such have the right to make our own choices – knock yourself out! Just leave me alone – OK? I respect your choices – offer me the same courtesy.
The reason for this rant? Truthfully, I have had my doubts about homeopathy too occasionally. And no not because it does not work – it has never let me down… Rather it’s in those moments when I am designing a presentation on homeopathy and I think about how ‘science’ does not support the modality. We are all so hypnotised by materialism. I think most us who work outside the mainstream have occasional doubts – and why not? We are constantly ridiculed, questioned, forced to defend ourselves and our work in a way those in the mainstream have never even dreamed of. And why would they? They are the mainstream, accepted ‘understood’… Anyway, every now and again I have my not so secret doubts and then a lesson appears. I have to say that after this latest lesson I have renewed respect for the power of this modality.
